Transfer of course credits

It is possible to transfer credit from another university or post-secondary institution for compulsory units or electives in the Musicology program.
An application is not necessary for free electives (freie Wahlfächer) that have been completed at the University of Graz or at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, regardless of the program. If a free elective was completed at another recognized educational institution, a certificate of participation is required. The certificate must be entered in the online system (UGO or KUGonline) of the university in which the student is officially enrolled.
It is also possible to transfer credits from music high schools (in future, also conservatories), but only for the following units: Composition 1 and 2, Form 1 and 2, and Basic Principles of Musical Structure (Tonsatz 1 und 2, Formenlehre 1 und 2, Grundprinzipien der musikalischen Gestaltung).
Applications for credit transfer are submitted to the Dean's office of the Faculty of Humanities and approved by the chair of the curriculum committee. Please write to recognition-gewi@uni-graz.at.
Before applying for transfer credits, it is advisable to discuss with the details with the chair of the curriculum committee.
